In May 2024, new EDM & House Music Record Label “Cease & Desist” decided they wanted to take new, unheard music to the masses and embarked on their journey into internet radio with a brand new EDM radio station. We were there to provide the necessary solutions and technology to make it easy, so they could concentrate on the music itself.
The Brief
Essentially the brief was simple. Cease & Desist are looking to build their own unique community of House music fans, promoting up-and-coming artists and DJs to a global population. Their remit is equally simple. To disrupt. What they needed, was a solution which would enable them to broadcast Internationally, 24 hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week to as many people as possible.
Combining AutoDJ solutions alongside podcasts, pre-recorded shows and DJ sets with live-broadcasting options, they had done their homework and already researched the 3 big players on the market. They knew what they wanted, which included:
- International broadcasting.
- Available 24/7 with a minimum of 99% guaranteed uptime.
- Media storage for an existing library of 10,000 music files.
- AutoDJ facilities to enabling staff-less broadcasting.
- Web Radio players that could be integrated into websites and social media.
- The ability to integrate into a Discord server with audience participation.
- API capabilities to future proof and further develop the station.
- Accessibility through mobile apps and smart device commands.
- The ability for live DJs to broadcast without any additional hardware, from anywhere in the world, at any time of day.
- And above all, sensible pricing that bust their start-up budget or cap their listeners or bandwidth!
That last one is tough one in the current marketplace, with the big providers offering excellent packages but with extreme limits on bandwidth, or file storage, or concurrent listeners, or all of them (unless you’re prepared to pay silly money!)
