A digital platform built around the people who make race day happen

Castle Combe Racing Club sits at the heart of one of the UK’s best-known motor racing circuits, organising its own championships and race meetings while supporting a community of competitors, officials, marshals, members and race fans. Its website therefore needed to do far more than promote upcoming racing. It needed to become a practical digital home for the Club.

The Challenge

Different audiences arrive at Castle Combe Racing Club with very different objectives.

  • A spectator may want to discover the next race meeting and buy tickets.
  • A competitor needs championship information, regulations, registration, entry lists and race-day documentation.
  • A marshal or official needs information about volunteering, training and event sign-on.
  • A member needs to understand their benefits and access the services relevant to them.

The challenge was to bring these different journeys together within one coherent website without making the organisation feel complicated to navigate.

The Solution

Ammedia developed a bespoke WordPress platform built around structured content and the Club’s core audiences.

Rather than treating every piece of information as a standard website page, the platform gives important content its own structure and relationships — allowing events, championships, news and operational race information to be managed appropriately while remaining easy for visitors to discover.

The result brings together:

  • Race events and calendars
  • Championship information
  • Driver registration
  • Regulations and championship documentation
  • Event noticeboards
  • Race-day bulletins and official documents
  • Entry lists and competitor information
  • Membership
  • Officials and marshals
  • News and editorial content
  • External race accounts and operational services
  • Spectator ticketing
  • Club shop access

Event-Led Content

Race meetings demonstrate the platform at its most operational.

Individual event pages provide a central location for the information surrounding a meeting, including official bulletins, supplementary regulations, final instructions, timetables, paddock maps, briefing information and championship entry lists.

This allows the same event to serve both promotional and practical requirements rather than scattering important information across unrelated areas of the website.\

Multiple Audiences. One Club.

The platform recognises that competitors, marshals, officials, members and spectators do not need identical experiences.

Navigation and content structure provide clear routes into the information relevant to each audience while maintaining a consistent Castle Combe Racing Club experience.

Where specialist or external services are required — including race administration, marshal sign-on, spectator ticketing and retail — the website provides the appropriate route into those systems rather than attempting to duplicate their functionality.

Built to be Managed

The platform was designed not only around the people visiting it, but around the Club team responsible for operating it.

Structured WordPress content gives administrators a consistent way to publish and maintain information without rebuilding page layouts every time something changes.

Reusable presentation and content structures allow the website to evolve throughout a racing season as events, championship information, news, documentation and operational information change.

The Result

Castle Combe Racing Club now has a digital platform capable of supporting both sides of the organisation: the excitement of club motorsport and the information required to make it happen.

From discovering a race meeting to accessing championship regulations, joining the Club or finding the latest race-day bulletin, the platform gives different audiences clear routes to the information and services they need.
